The training we offer can accommodate the complete novice through to advancing existing skills.

 

During the training we focus on many areas of working the Shire horse, including harrowing the fields, moving timber, rolling the fields and learning how to drive seated agricultural equipment. 

During the summer we use the horses for the hay harvest, they do everything apart from the baling.

You will work the horses in the school and practice there, before moving out to the fields. Also you will take them out onto the local lanes in a cart or carriage under supervision by your tutor.

All our training is bespoke to meet your requirements. 

We recommend 3 days in length and during your training we are happy to offer a self contained B&B flat for your use, or we can recommend local accommodation. If you would like to bring your own horse, DIY stabling can also be provided.

Our training is focussed on driving a Shire horse and working them on the land. 

​​

Price:

£750 for 3 days training and the Owl's Barn accommodation.

The price excludes DIY stabling which, if required, is charged at £20 / night
